A beta version is something that has not yet been fully tested and might not work properly. Patrick

Yes, there is a fee. You might want to hold off, there will be a 2005 version soon, or so I'm told (we're running out of 2005 days aren't we). What functions do you need that you don't have? Just curious. BTW, if 2005 version is released, I'll sell you my 2003 version.

uhh.. no. K, there are multiple DVD's... and the license needs to accompany the program... and then there's the matter of compensation. LOL! You didn't say which Office programs you were using (except for Excel), but look at the FILE | SAVEAS command. It will fix your problem. e.g., in Word, choose Save As Type: Word 97-2003. Then, OK. e.g., in Excel, choose Save As Type: Excel 97-2003. Then, OK. e.g., in Access, choose Backup Database... the default is Access 2000 format. Nothing else needed.

It is currently called Office 12. I am not sure if they will label it with a year upon release or not, but 12 is what Microsoft seems to be referencing it is. It is in beta stage right now.

I have a beta of Windows Vista running on my computer. It is pretty neat. I'm excited to see the release version. I'll have to start saving up to be able to get that and Office 12....
