Dear Support,

I'm using MetaStock 11 and an account EOD with Reuters.

After the markets close I update all the stocks data (NYSE and NASDAQ) by The Downloader.

Last week I discover that after the close of markets, without using The Downloader, all the stocks in my NYSE and NASDAQ list was updated, and the days after I never more used The Downloader !

So my question is: why I have to use The Downloader if my stocks update is automatic after the close of market ?

I know..maybe is a silly question but I hope you'll answer me about.

Thank you.

Anthony

Dear Anthony,

This forum deals exclusively with meatstock-related issues nowadays, and as such you can find more information in our recent kitchen threads here, and here, and here, and here, and here, and here.

For information related to the older MetaStock platform (crippled and bug-ridden since v12), please refer to our new resident expert - see raving reviews about his incredible skills here.

With kind regards,

Lai Sze

Unless you schedule something in the Windows Task Scheduler to run Express Download, MetaStock does not contain functionality that would automatically update your locally stored data. You of course have the option to open these exchange folders on Demand (via. the File-->Open-->Reuters DataLink button) but I am uncertain of how anything would automatically update your local files without actually running our data collection tool (The DownLoader).
