It sounds like it can't find formulas, which I think is MS??FORM.DTA (?? is the version number). You may need to restore a backup, or re-install. Hope you didn't have too many custom formulas...

I reinstalled MS... ...I formatted the PC, before reinstalling OS and MS again... ...and the problem presents itself again! Luckily, after clicking on the OK button, I am able to complete the exploration anyway...

I am a long time happy user of Windows XP and use Metastock for many years, so I'm not properly an absolute beginner. I restored the OS to a previous working version, but with no results.

Also, make sure you're using Microsoft Security Essentials on the computer and FamilyShield or OpenDNS on your router.
