Hi, heres a general query. In Excel, col A have dates from say 1/1/05 to todays date, col b range of prices. First dates are in uk, copy and paste both columns to index chart in Meta. Plots graph with some price series missing. Ok back to excel format col a to use USA Dates, back to Meta, Perfect. Why?. Next say a week later update in excel dates and prices, open metastock, no copy and paste as dynamically linked, but, in the header shows correct 'todays' prices but graph shows price 1 week ago, the only way so far Ive found to change this is, in Excel change dates to UK, apply, then back to USA, this updates Meta perfect. Why? In Meta used the Update Link but no joy. I know this is a minor prob but could be time consuming if I had alot of links to Excel. Also doesnt install confidence in the graph.
Regards Robert

Could the problem be that MetaStock uses MMDDYYYY and your data is DDMMYYYY ...

Thanks for your reply, This is indeed the problem, what I like to know though is when Ive altered the date format in Excel, its not updating metastock without me haveing to go through the rigmorole of altering dates back to uk then back to usa.

You could try the following : ( I have never tested this myself )
Delete the date column all together, now when in the downloader click on tools, convert and click on options. Specify the first and last date you are converting.
I believe The Downloader will the assign the date properly for you as long as the data is accurate and that you are not missing any days. I don't know how it handles hollidays and such .... anyways it is worth a shot.
