I installed MetaStock Pro 8.0 on Friday so I am still learning it. I am using it as EOD (Reuters) only for now as I have real time quotes and charts from Ameritrade. When I right click on the chart and then go to Reasearch, all those links do not work. I went to the Metastock site to get an update for the Internet Menu Files but they have them for only up to 7.0. Is there somewhere I can get these updates for 8.0? Thanks Steve

You should not need an update for these files if you have version 8.0 or greater. What do mean by the links do not work? What happens exactly? Patrick

Hi Patrick, I get this message when I try any of them: We've redesigned our site, and it looks like your old link or bookmark doesn't work. But not to worry! You can still find our homepage by clicking on the link below. You can bookmark it for easy reference when you get there. You can also find a wealth of data on the stocks you follow by using the navigation links on your left. Steve

Try this file ... Download it in your Equis fodler and replace the existing one. Let me know what happens. Patrick

Patrick, I downloaded it to Program Files\\Equis but I still get the same message. I closed Metastock twice and then tried it on different stocks but it didn't work. Steve

Alright, I have uploaded a new version of webres.dta. Download it and place the file in "ALL" Metastock or MSWIN folder located on your computer. Apparently this problem occurs when you have multiple installation of metastock or remains of a previous install. Look for C:\\Program Files\\Equis\\Metastock copy it there Look for C:\\Program Files\\Equis\\MSWIN copy it there Etc ... hopefully this will work :)

I am having the same problem and can't find your file. I have searched your home web site without luck. Apparently that file is updated every time you use it as mine is dated 4/4/2005. I have made a search of my system and can find only a single occurence of a metastock or mswin folder. It is on H:, not C:. I hope that doesn't make a difference.

OK, I found the file in a previous post. I still get the same redesign error, though.

Is H: a partition of your local drive or is it a shared drive on the network? When you copied the new file in the MetaStcok folder, it did overwrite the previous file, right? Let me know if you have more info ... Patrick

Okay, your message now says that "the extension ".dta" has been inactivated by a Board Admin" So where can we get the files for the new internet links?

The only files there were last updated in 2002. Didn't download them.
