I recently upgraded to the latest "Xenith for Daily Charts" due to the 30 June deadline. After the upgrade, I encountered the following frustrating problems;

- Error "You have exceeded the maximum number of requests allowed by the Workspace API. Please try again later". I have not even completed 40% of the daily download.

- Download sometimes freeze or become very slow if the download was not stopped by the "maximum number of requests allowed by Workplace API" error

Did anyone encounter the same problem?

I tried the data download again today. The download speed after upgrading is terribly slow. It's like taking half an hour to download 1000 symbols. The daily download data service is pretty useless at this rate of download. Is someone at Metastock looking into this problem?

This daily download service used to be so good in the past. What happened after the upgrade? The product is almost unusable now.

Can someone from Metastock please respond?

Hello,

Sorry to hear of the problems you've experienced downloading data. There is a rate limit of 20,000 symbols per day. If you are exceeding this number we may need to work with you to see where we can optimize your download folders to prevent this. If you need more than this you may also wish to contact our sales team to see if they can set up an additional (discounted) data package for you.

Beyond the 20,000 daily limit, we have heard from users of slow download speeds. This has been reported to our development team to see what can be done in these cases, although I do not have a specific resolution date at this time.

If you are collecting a large amount of history, your initial download may be slower than subsequent downloads. If you have already collected the full history, you may also want to try:

  1. Breaking your folders up into smaller download requests (i.e if you have 10 folders, try downloading 2 folders at a time and potentially scaling up until you find the optimal download speed.)

Beyond this we may need to get more details on your specific workflow to see if anything else can improve your download speeds. We will continue looking into ways we can improve the download experience from our end as well.

I have the same issue — it takes almost an hour to scan 3,000 ticks. It used to take about 3 minutes. I also noticed errors in the data. Working like this, the program has become useless for me.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about the change in performance you have experienced in your downloads. We are continuing to look into ways of addressing this issue. As you have noted, the initial part of the download goes fairly quickly but then 'stalls' after a certain amount. We have found that by breaking up the data downloads into smaller groups (500 symbols per download) and downloading in batches, you can avoid this slowdown. That is not an ideal workaround and we are both checking with our data vendor to see what can be done for this, as well as investigating whether we can configure the Downloader/MetaStock to work within this limitation.

Hello,

Sorry for the negative experience you have had in your data requests. I understand this can cause significant slowdowns to people's workflows. We have been investigating these reported issues and believe we have narrowed down the problem area. We are continuing to work with our data vendor to fully isolate this issue and establish a long term solution. We are looking into some short-term updates to help avoid this issue while we work toward a more permanent solution. I will post an update here once we have more information.
