To start with, the Expert symbols and Expert alerts are using different code... so sort out which one is right (which one you want to use) and use that code in both places in the expert.

My preferred option would be to rewrite the entire functionality in an indicator, and call the values from the Expert using either Fml() or FmlVar(). This will make the code easier to maintain and faster to execute.

Hello Khandelia,

Are you successful with Headley's Expert Advisor (modified or not) more than with others your may have tried?

Greetings!

This truly expands not only your wallet, even your mind, as well "John Murphy's Chart Pattern Recognition".

For other than these precious two, I've experienced that we must be ensured before purchase any add-on or plug-in that formulas will modifiable or not.

As far as I understand, protected formula is a sign of developers' poor thought who do not want to expand your mind.

Sincerely

Hi Khan, [:)]

I asked the question for you, not for me, because I wanted to see how you think. [;)]
I already have this add-on but do not use it since I have better systems of my own.
It seems you are a beginner trader, educated, who discovered MetaStock language and who postponed learning it by resorting to add-on for ready-made trading rules. That's fine. [:D]

I agree to open code with one exception: password-protected formulas may be frowned upon by many investors, but developers of such code are not necessarily evil. When you come across a great discovery, first, you want to keep it to yourself. Hey, it's your baby.
After a while, you decide to make it public BUT do not reveal the code because of what I call "too much in love with the system". After a while, you decide to tell it all, logic AND code.
Everybody is free to do with his discovery as he likes, but keep in mind that all developers pass through the same series of emotions like everybody else: sometimes they need to talk, sometimes they need to brag about something and sometimes they want to hide everything from everybody.

I wish to know how many secrets you keep! [:S]

There are some buyers who even suspect open code to be an extra sales effort, not an extraordinary system.
The fact that one software or add-on is popular with investors is not a true sign of their monetary success. Many of them buy add-ons just like women keep buying s[censored]s. It is interesting.

I hope you'll do well and let us know how you are progressing, big trends or small trends ... [:D]
