P, you need to do the heimlich maneuver on the server. It takes forever to load... unlike Google! :D I think it's blogged down!

Is it that bad? It does not seem much slower than usual on my side ... is it slow loading pages or when you post?

It's slower on posts, but slow on both. 55%/45%.

Well it really depends on the traffic and what people are doing on the forum at the time ... I do restart some services every once in a while to speed up things but this has little effect. Patrick

I will try to restart some services then ... But my guess is that we are getting a lot more traffic lately ...

I turned on log tracking on the forum server ... So for the next week it might seem that the forum is slower than usual ... I apologize for the inconvenience but if we are to get a better server I have to prove that the forum is getting enough traffic ... hence me tracking the logs for this week. Patrick

Do you want me to run my 'hit the reload button' macro to artifically inflate the numbers? :P

Have you noticed improvements since yesterday, I restarted the whole server rather than some services and it seems to me that everything is much faster ... Am I dreaming? Patrick

[whine]46 seconds to receive confirmation after posting message...[/whine]. addendum: posting a new message takes about 10 seconds; editing a message is what's killing me. That's the 46+ seconds. Heck, you only have to stay on a bull for 8 seconds... 46 seconds is 5.75 bull rides! :smt087
