We added the ability to toggle on/off both major and/or minor grid lines, so the Y Axis Properties changed slightly in version 18.  There are many ways to change this setting. To add grid lines to a chart, follow the steps below:

MetaStock v18 --> Current

1. Open MetaStock. 
2. From the Power Console, select the Charts button.
3. Open the desired chart.
   • Type in the instrument using the Instrument(s) field at the top.
   • Select instrument using Custom Online Data Lists or Public Online Data Lists.
   • Select local data instrument using Local Data Lists.
4. Open the Format menu.
5. Select Right Y-Axis.
6. Select the Grid tab.
7. Click on Show major grid lines.
8. Click on Show minor grid lines.
9. Click OK.

Or 

1. Open MetaStock. 
2. From the Power Console, select the Charts button.
3. Open the desired chart.
   • Type in the instrument using the Instrument(s) field at the top.
   • Select instrument using Custom Online Data Lists or Public Online Data Lists.
   • Select local data instrument using Local Data Lists.
4. Double click, or right-click and select Y-Axis Properties, on the values on the right side of the chart.
5. Select the Grid tab.
6. Click on Show major grid lines.
7. Click on Show minor grid lines.
8. Click OK.
