Hi I am using MS11 and have heaps of code and systems. If I upgrade to MS16, is there any MS11 code that is known to not work? Is it a simple upgrade or is there more to it than that in terms of re-coding?

Hi, The "P" variable will not work from Explorations (it was not commonly used, and required an opened chart with the selected object to work in version 11). We have made changes to how the Security function works, but generally you should be OK with older formulas that do not include the new prefixes we added to expand our data support for the function. Version 16 will not replace version 11 on the hard drive, so both MetaStock versions will exist on your PC (although you cannot run them at the same time as they both use the MSWIN.EXE process). Version 11 files will not be changed, but we will attempt to copy/import your old formula files into the new version when you run the MetaStock Migration Utility.
To sum up, your old formulas should continue to work as before in version 16, but in the event you needed to go back to version 11 for any reason you should be able to do so with your old setup intact.
