I recently purchased MS XV. ( I have had MS since 2000 so am reasonably familiar though it's a bit of a change from 7.2)
When I save charts, they appear to be saved, but I can't open them. I get a message "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is found". Thanks in advance, Anne

Hi Anne, Are you attempting to open the charts by double-clicking on them in Windows, or by going through File > Open in MetaStock's menu? Are you starting with charts migrated from an older version, or are these charts newly created in MetaStock 15?

Does this also happen if you open a chart with the Clean template, save it as a Chart and re-open it?
Does re-opening existing Smart Charts cause similar problems?
We might need to take a look at some log files, either for MetaStock or the Windows Event Logs. It might be easiest to work directly with our support via phone simply to make it easier to review the crash messages. There are debug logs we can enable in addition to the Event Logs that Windows records when there is a crash. You might also want to ensure you have the latest Windows updates installed. Which version of Windows are you currently using? You might also have some MetaStock shortcut properties in the Compatibility tab that could cause some problems if those happened to get carried over from older versions of MetaStock.
