Futures:

• Specific contracts
  • Specific contracts consist of a base symbol, month code, and year code

• LCO(base symbols) K (May month code) 7 (2017 year code) = LCOK7
• Continuous symbols
• Continuous symbols track all specific contract symbols and roll from one specific contract to the next based on the expiration of the specific contract.
• LCO (base symbol) c1 (lower case , indication of the continuous contract)= LCOc1

Equities\Stocks:

IBM, MSFT.O, AAPL

• Are normally three to four characters long and are case sensitive.

Options (Equities):

IBMJ251911000.U (Call)

• IBM(Root Symbol) J(October Call) 2519(Expiration Day/Year) 11000(Strike Price+2 decimals) .U(Separator and Exchange ID)

IBMV251911000.U (Put)

• IBM(Root Symbol) V(October Put) 2519(Expiration Day/Year) 11000(Strike Price+2 decimals) .U(Separator and Exchange ID)

Forex\Currencies:

RD-EUR= or EURCHF= or GBP=

• Consist of the base symbol followed by an equal sign

Mutual Funds:

#AAAAX or AAAAX

• Five character symbols
• Symbols without the # in front of them are adjusted for distributions
• Symbols with the # in front of them is the raw data, no adjustments

Index/Indices:

.SPX, .DJI

• All index symbols have a period in front of them (.) and are case sensitive
