1. Open MetaStock. 
2. From the Power Console, select the Explore button. 
3. Select the desired Exploration(s) in the Explorations pane (top, left). 
4. Select the desired instrument, or multiple instruments, from a custom online list or a public online list from the Instruments pane (bottom, left). Check the box next to the list name to select an entire list, or expand a list and check the boxes next the desired instruments.
5. Select the desired options from the right pane.
6. Click Start Exploration or press Enter.

MetaStock v12

1. Open MetaStock. 
2. From the Power Console, select the Explorer button. 
3. From the Select an Exploration dialog highlight the exploration (scan) to be used. 
4. Select Next.
5. From the Select list(s) to Explore dialog, highlight the list of instruments to be explored.  Instruments within lists can be checked and unchecked. 
6. Select Next.
7. Select the Exploration Options. 
8. Select Start Exploration. 

MetaStock v11

1. Open Metastock. 
2. From the Tools menu select The Explorer.
3. Highlight an Exploration(s) and select Explore.
4. From the Select Securities dialog select Add Securities.
5. From the Add Securities dialog:
   • If working with local data, select the Local Data button browse to the desired folder, highlight the instruments and select Open.
   • If working with online data, select the Datalink button, highlight the instruments and select Open.
6. Select OK.
