Hi,
Friend of mine asked me a question which I do not know the answer, actually I need the answer too!
We need some help to setup Trade Options in System Test for Forex to be like real.
The information is :
Balance: $10000
Leverage: 1:500
Broker information for Oil that I want to test is:
Symbol: LCOc1
Description: BRENT CRUDE JUL5
Minimum Price Fluctuation: 0.01000
Value of Minimum Price Fluctuation: USD 1
Spreads As low as: 0.05
Value of 1 lot: 100 Barrels
Min/Max Trade Size: 1/100
Margin Percentage: 1.5 %
Limit and Stop Levels: * 0.1
1.How to set these info to "System Test Options"?
2.How to make it trade 5 lots size each trade?
3.How can I know if it calls the Margin in the loss trade?
Regards,

Hi,
The System Test does not handle point values and lot sizes automatically. You can use the "Points Only Test" option in the Trade Options > Account tab. This assumes you are purchasing 1 contract per trade. You would then need to multiply your results by the point value and the number of lots you plan to trade.
Your results will only show you how many points you would have made. In other words instead of showing actual dollar amounts it will show you a numerical value. You then, (in the case of futures) take this amount and multiply it by the unit multiplier for that future. This will then show you how much you would have made in profit for one contract/lot. This test completely disregards dollars and equity in determining when to buy and sell.
If you plan on purchasing multiple lots, you would simply multiply the above results by the number of lots you plan on purchasing.
Margin settings are not available when using this Points Only Test option as they are based on Equity which is not used in Points Only Testing.
