Hi,
Following the instruction of Help section in the Downloader, I saved a stock symbols text file with 'SYM' extension into the Downloader folder. However, this text file could not be seen in the MetaStock Data folder.
And it is just impossible to select the 500 stock symbols one by one and save it into a folder.
Please help.

Hi,
The most common mistake is when a user does not put the filename in quotation marks when saving the file and it ends up including an additional extension on the file (i.e. "MyStocks.sym.txt"). Often-times the user is hiding file extensions so the file may even appear correct even though it is an actual text file.
Further, the SYM file should not go into the MetaStock data folder, but into the DownLoader folder (Typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Equis\The DownLoader. Afterward the SYM file should appear when you go to File > New > Security and click Look-Up and click onto the "Type" field.
