Looking to Upgrade from V8.0 to XIII - Q. Can Only DataLink Data be Used?

New user and first post, but been trading for 15 years and used MS v8.0 since 2002. Can someone tell me if MS XIII can only be used with DataLink Data feeds? I have never used DataLink with v8.0, because it did not sell Australian Market data, which is what I trade mostly. Does Datalink handle splits, name changes etc? Reading some of these posts it appears MSXIII can read .CSV files, so really I assume this means any variety of end of day ascii format data can be used as long as it is in same MS ascii format (Sym,date,O,H,L,C,V,). it also means any multitude of apps and Excel macros can adjust, manipulate the data. Does MS XIII reformat data stored on hard drive for name changes, splits, GICS directory changes, etc. Bhodi Gold handles all of this and can convert to a multitude of other Formats as well as automatically download, update, back up, trash old and store locally. If Datalink can do all of this I am probably in, but if it doesn't, I'll probably stick with MS v8.0 and use existing vendor data.

MetaStock 13 End-of-Day requires the Reuters DataLink feed but can be used in conjunction with other sources if they are converted into a CSV/TXT format.
There are no specific tools in MetaStock 13 for managing data from other sources (as online data is the primary focus of version 13) although we can send the DownLoader to users as needed. Functionally speaking (aside from a few UI tweaks and symbol database updates) what you can do in DownLoader 8 will be the same as what you can do in The DownLoader 10.1 (the version we send out as needed).
