Sorting (or exploring) based on specific stock exchange

Does anyone know if there is a way of sorting stock lists by exchange? For instance, I may only want the S&P 500 stocks that are NYSE listed, and disregard the Nasdaq listed stocks.
I can't figure this out without checking (or unchecking) the individual box next to each stock in the stock lists.
Thoughts that I was unable to implement:
1. Check if a stock in on multiple lists. For instance, only output stock if on both S&P 500 list and NYSE list.
2. Create Explorer based on name of symbol. Only output stock if symbol contains ".n", which designates the stock a NYSE stock in the MetaStock stock lists.

There are several other way you could do this. For example you could
use Excel. From The Explorer, copy the NYSE instruments to Excel. Then
do the same for the SP500. Then do your Excel magic. I don't know the
exact steps in Excel off the top of my head, but I know it could be
done pretty easily.
If you are using MetaStock 12, you could create a custom list using the Custom List Manager. You'd have to invest a bit of time up-front, but once done you should be set.

I had this problem too.. but just by coincidence, I managed to find a way to to do this!
Follow the normal procedure to run an exploration - when you click on 'Add securities', add all of your securities to the list... then just click on the 'Composite' column header.. and this should sort all the securities by exchange (or rather the symbol suffix).

Nice suggestion. This would work for local data folders in versions 11.0 and older, but not in 12.0.
Thanks
