Hi Guys
Please help this newby to Metastock. I have just finished a System Test on the best system for each stock in my Portfolio.A couple of the stocks seem to work best with Equis Negative Volume Optimised.
This system does not exist in Explorer or Expert Adviser or as an Indicator (Metastock 11)- so how does this exercise help?? I can find the ordinary NVI indicator but not Equis Negative Volume - is there a difference?
How and where do I change the NVI formula to make best use of the figures which came out of the Optimizer in the System test?
Help!!
Thanks[:$]

The optimized systems are not completed traded strategies. They were designed to show how the optimization feature of the system tester could be used. A general idea for a system is presented but a time period or a critical level for a signal is represented by an optimization variable. Optimization then allows you to run the test multiple times to find which value works best over a given range of historical data.
Different securities will likely have different values. You will also get different values as you vary the range of data being tested. Over multiple tests on multiple securities, certain values should appear more frequently in the top 5-10 results. After analyzing the equity curves, number of trades, profit/loss values, and other details of the system test results, you would pick a value you want to use for actual trading. Then the experts and exploration can be made.
To make the other tools, you would copy the buy and sell formulas from the system tester and paste them into the expert adviser and/or the explorer. When you do so, you will have to replace the OPT variables with the values you decided to use after analyzing the system test reports.
