In going over a folder of charts use a chart template with indicators in it, I often encounter stocks that do not have enough data to drive the indicators/Expert Advisors. For example, a few IPOs do not have enough trading history for MetaStock to calculate the 50-day moving average or 200-day moving average, and MetaStock would generate an error message. My question: any way avoid these pop-up error messages without making an effort to avoid these indicators/experts?

Hi trendsca

The indicators used in your template probably need to be modified specifically to avoid the error messages you are getting. A simple technique that should work for most situations is to pass the original indicator output through the Forum DLL so that N/A results are converted to zeros. An output line like this should eliminate N/A results.

ExtFml("Forum.Sum", "original output" ,1);

Depending on what indicators you're using and how they interact with others in the template, this could lead to other problems such as Divide-by-Zero errors. However, that too can be addressed quite easily.

There are numerous other tricks that can be applied if the Forum DLL doesn't achieve the desired result.
