Hi,
i'm using Metastock v11 EOD and perhaps have missed a maintenance update?
case:
The Inertia indicator shows different values for the same securities
a) used as indicator in the main chart window
b) used in a explorer (exploration)
I've this phenomenon with the standard inertia(20,14) and all securities I've inspected.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Volker

Hi Volker
The Inertia() function uses exponential smoothing internally and therefore uses ALL available data to generate a result. It's most likely that your Explorer is set to Load Minimum Records, or a set number of records that differs considerably from the number of bars opened by your chart.

@Roy,
many thanks for your fast answer!
That was exact the reason for the different values. Now I've got it...
bye,
Volker
