Hi,

I'm a new user to MetaStock,

I want to be able to see all the data in the specific stock from 1900 on on one continuous screen,

When I open a chart, the data on the chart is only opening from March 2010,

I go to: File -> Open -> Enter Symbol "2HG",

On the 'Futures Contracts' screen I enter "Specific contracts" is unticked and "Continuous contracts" is ticketd,

How can i view all the data for a stock in one continuous screen?

Thanks,

Niall

Have a look in your MS User Manual for "load options" under the File > Open dialogue box. You can load 65500 bars on charts (50000 bars in system tests and 32767 bars in explorations) Also, make sure your data provider actually provides that amount of data. wabbit [:D]

Hi Wabbit,

Thanks for the information,

I have purchased Meta Stock and with that I got Reuters Data for USA,
I presume with Reuters data that they contain the price data for all USA data,

Do you know how to integrate the data for Reuters into MetaStock?

Also, when i open contracts from 2009 to 2012, it opens the individual contracts on individual screens rather than one continuous line,

Is this also contained in the load options?

Thanks in Advance,

Niall

I don't use Reuters data, I get my data from Norgate's Premium Data service, so you'll have to wait for an answer from someone who knows for sure; however, you can use the Downloader to get your data and I'd guess Reuters have a continuous contract data set somewhere? wabbit [:D]

Niall,

Reuters Datalink has a specific ticker symbol for each commodities continuous contract. The symbol is always constructed by using c1 in place of the month and year expiration code. So, where the December 2012 contract of corn uses the symbol @:CZ2, the continuous contract would use the symbol @:Cc1. Please note that the c1 notation uses a lower case c. If you use a capital C you will get invalid symbol errors.
