Number of Bars Displayed in Default Template is Changing

Been havin gthis problem for many years and still haven't figured it out. Using EOD ver 11.
1) I clear out (delete) the smart charts folder in my data directory.
2) I load a symbol, apply a template, and save it as a Smart Chart.
3) I save that as Default Template.
4) Proper number of bars is now displayed for all symbols.
5) I apply some of my other templates which are different than the Default Template.
6) I exit MetaStock and do not save at the prompts.
7) I start MetaStock again and bring up a symbol that I had looked at in the previous session.
8) This symbol uses the Default Template, but the number of bars is substantially more than it should be.
Is there some sort of Smart Chart setting that I am unaware of? Appreciate any help from other users.

The number of bars loaded and displayed is controlled by FILE...OPEN...OPTIONS...LOAD OPTIONS.
You can override this by double-clicking the X-AXIS and putting a checkmark in the RETAIN SCALE box.
