Problems converting excel data to Metastock with Downloader

I have a file with data in excel which I can convert to Metastock.
I have a new excel file in which I copied the same data and I can't convert it to Metastock. The Downloader reports errors.
Are there any requirements for the excel spreadsheet to be converted?
The data: formatting, dates, columns, etc. are the same in both cases.

Welcome to the forum!
Are you using Excel 2007/2010 format (.xlsx)? I don't think The Downloader can convert from this format (you'll have to save it to .xls instead).
As for the other requirements, if you click on Help -> The Downloader Help, click on the Search tab, type "excel" and press Enter.
