I can't seem to copy my favorites.dta from my main pc to another pc properly (whether it's Win7 or Vista.) I've tried disabling UAC as was suggested elsewhere, and done a search and replaced any other copies I've found on the other pc, but none of these work. Any ideas please?

If copy paste doesn't work then maybe a backup and restore might work. I am thinking (guessing) that the files might all need to be "in sync" to function properly.

Well I've actually tried copying the entire Metastock folder over to another pc, but even that doesn't work. I can only presume it's making a copy in the registry somewhere?

The favorites.dta file is just a list of shortcuts. If the ticker symbols referenced by those shortcuts are not available in the exact same location on the new system, the favorites will not work.

Yes I copied and pasted everything into the same place but it just keeps showing the previous favorites folder, even though I deleted it and replaced it with the one from my other pc.
