I opened MS this morning and looked at a chart with an expert advisor. Rather than the green up arrows and red down arrows, the chart shows red Ps and green Os. This is not the first time I've seen this.
What happened?

MetaStock uses a custom font for the symbols it displays on charts.
Windows will periodically check fonts to see if they meet some criteria and reject them if they do not pass. Normally our custom font has not problem with this, but every now and then, windows will decide it does not like our font and stop using it.
all you have to do is add the font back to the list of windows fonts. To do that:
open the windows control panel
open the fonts control
select File --> install new font
browse to the metastock folder (usually c:\program files\equis\metastock)
select the Equis TrueType font and click OK
close the fonts tool and restart metastock
You should now see your symbols as usual.
