I seem to be having problem with the Downloader (V11) which appears to just completely miss some stocks but updates all the rest. The ones that are missing seem to have no data at all or at least can't be found in teh Metastock program. Here’s a snapshot of a section of data used IFL,20100906,6.77,6.84,6.65,6.84,543066 IFM,20100906,0.22,0.22,0.21,0.215,123135 IFN,20100906,0.725,0.745,0.72,0.745,2624048 IFS,20100906,0.048,0.048,0.048,0.048,0 IFSO,20100906,0.02,0.02,0.02,0.02,0 There is no data for IFN in Metastock at all, even though the other symbols update just fine. I have ticked “Create New Files” under Conversion Options/Destination but it appears to miss this one and a number of other stocks as well. Any ideas out there?

I think that section of the downloader code is still restricted by their older 255 security per folder limit. If you already have 255 or more securities in the folder, it may not make a new file.

Try checking the option in the destination tab to "traverse destination folder". It will make a new sub-folder named "I" and should put IFN in that folder. After the IFN files is made, you can move back to the main folder and it should update normally from that point.

I have checked the Traverse Destination Folder Option and it has correctly created directories rfrom A to Z. I have also noticed that there are other files missing in other directories - it appears to be quite random.
I also checked and teh I directory only has 41 DAT files, although the text file appears to have over 4,000 lines.

If the security is not already in the main directory, then it will be put in the subdirectory. It all depends on the securities currently in your main folder

The 'I' directory should have a MASTER file too. if you just have .dat files, then you might as well delete that folder. .dat files by themselves can not be read
