How many dollars does the MDK cost? It contains the MSFL and the MSX? There is a good documentation with it?

Best to ask for prices sales@equis.com and for technical questions Msdevkit@equis.com To be honest, I have seen a lot of software even open source project's which have better manuals/descriptions than msx... it is also a fact that msx is developed for a technology which is more than 10 years old - for example MSX AppWizard is written for VC6 and won't work with later Visual Studio versions. Never the less it is possible to develop projects without the wizard also in visual studio 2008 - and there are examples on cd and in the pdf with which it is possible to learn how msx works. If you are familiar with c++ you will be able to create such dll's with the docu. There are also examples in this forum (e.g. forum.dll) which help to understand msx more.

Basic question here: what is a .dll file? I see them discussed in many threads here. While I'm slowly learning MS code, I'm not a programmer so I don't have the concept.
Thanks.

In general or in the case of MSX? For a general definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic-link_library
MetaStock uses MSX .DLLs to do custom analytics that you can program in more powerful languages than the MetaStock Forumla Language bulit in.

Whoa, why the MetaStock SDK isn't free? Most SDKs are for free, for example you'll find free SDKs from Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Amazon, and even competing TA software like Wealth-Lab Developer and AmiBroker. Every of those companies understand that having lots developers for their platform is the key to success. Remember this movie from Microsoft: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8To-6VIJZRE&feature=related Why it isn't the case in MetaStock? Why MetaStock doesn't care for developers? Will SDK ever be for free?

I can think of a half dozen or so DK modules which aren't free. Ask Steve Jobs why we have to pay to even test a program on his mobile devices!
