Hi,

Does anyone know if the volume number we receive using the Reuters Data link actually reflects the number of shares traded on that day?

Does anyone have a reference for this information..?

Thanks,

Klaus

Keep in mind that data collected using The DownLoader from Reuters DataLink does truncate the last 2 digits from the volume figures, but aside from this the volume should be accurate. There might be minor variations between providers though. For example:

IBM on 12/14/2009 shows 5,201,300 Volume on Yahoo Finance

IBM on 12/14/2009 shows 5,202,187 Volume from Reuters DataLink (Data On Demand)

IBM on 12/14/2009 shows 52,022 Volume from Reuters DataLink (Local Data collected in The DownLoader)
