After running a simulation in Enhanced tester, I can't see the equity chart nor the profit bars displayed in the upper window. Can anyone help me fix it, I'm stuck.
Thanks

Hi phimeta
More information might be helpful. You don't say what other reports are or are not available, what the size of the portfolio is, what the code is, etc. Being vague tends to discourage people, myself included, from jumping in with a response that might or might not be helpful. No one wants to donate time only to find that they've addressed the wrong problem or issue. These comments are not intended as a criticism of you personally but as as constructive suggestions for enquirers in general.
Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I'm aware an equity chart is available only for individual securities, not for the portfolio as a whole. Getting no profit bars could mean that no trades were taken, resulting in a flat line report. Did you notice, for example, whether the little window that displays when the EST is performing a simulation indicated anything other than zero as the best performer?
This is probably not going to help but a simple trick to get a single bar graph result for the entire portfolio if testing without optimisation is to include "X:=OPT1;" (without quotes) somwhere in the code (the name of the variable is unimportant). Then set all OPT1 parameters to 1 so that you don't waste time spinning the EST's wheels.

Hi mstt, My apology for being very brief. Here is the problem: I'm running ver. 10.1 EOD, so when I open Metastock, I click on "Enhanced System Tester" (the button w/ a "$" sign located in the upper row and in the middle). I select a system say "MACD" and run the simulation. When I get the process then I click on "view results", when the results appear there is suppose to have green and red bars in the window indicating the stocks that made or lost money. Its that window that I'm talking about which is blank. I was going to post a snapshot but I don't know how. I emailed the problem to Metastock support and they could not solve it.
Appreciate your help

Hi phimeta
Send your snapshot to me at rlarsen@quik.co.nz. The EST used to work fine but suddenly stopped giving results?

This is more of a technical issue, it's the visual graphics I believe that are being referred to, not the results themselves. This is a fairly obscure issue that I would recommend contacting our support directly about.
We have seen issues related to TEECHART5.OCX (or one of it's many dependancy DLL's) not being properly registered on a PC. We've also seen some issues with international regional settings, where decimals are used as commas, and commas are used as decimals.
If you can provide some additional details on your PC - which version of Windows are you running? Is it a localized version of Windows?
