I'm considering buying MS 11 with EOD data and have a couple of basic questions:
1. As I understand it, MS 11 is not a trading platform but only technical analysis software. Am I right about this?
2. I'm new to technical analysis so I would like to "paper trade" for a month to see if I'm ready to do some real trading. Is there a simulation mode build-in so I can experiment in real time with actual Data link's EOD data to try "paper trading"? Does anyone know?
Thanks

I have MS 10.1 EOD, I don’t think 11 is any different. Your right, It’s not a trading platform.
It does have a scanning module “The Explorer” and a System back-tester. The system tester is fine but limited in functionality. It will tell you what the results of a system would have been in the past.
I haven’t noticed a ‘simulation’ mode. But, you can look at your indicators /system daily and track ‘trades’ you would have made in a spreadsheet program.

The system tester can be done on intraday (although it is slower doing this than locally stored Daily data), however it is not truly real-time. The closest thing to something like that is our Expert Advisor, which provides buy/sell signals and other information as the chart updates. It does not track equity gains/losses like the system tester, however.
