Released 08/31/2001 MetaStock Java, MetaStock Image Replace MetaStock Online SALT LAKE CITY,
August 31, 2001 - MetaStock now offers two choices in online charting:
MetaStock Java for live, interactive charts, and MetaStock Image for
fast-loading, static charts. "As we spoke with
organizations that wanted charting on their web sites, we discovered a
need for a choice of customizable charting programs," says Allan
McNichol, president and CEO of the Reuters subsidiary Equis
International, the makers of MetaStock. "As successors to our popular
MetaStock Online program, we've created two new programs: MetaStock
Java and MetaStock Image. The capability of each one is greater than
before, and the division allows Equis to offer greater flexibility and
value to companies who wish to use MetaStock's online charting." MetaStock's Online Charting Experience Here's
how MetaStock works for online charting. Users arrive at a main page,
financial page, or any page the site's owners want to use for
MetaStock. The chart area shows a default chart customized for that
particular web site. To get a different chart, users simply type the
symbol for the security they want to see. MetaStock pulls data from any
server specified by the site and then creates the new chart-either a
live, interactive chart from MetaStock Java or a fast-loading, static
chart from MetaStock Image, depending on which option the site owner
has chosen. Dependable Charts MetaStock software is
among the best-built, best-tested tools for analyzing price data, and
the new online charting programs are no exception. They provide
dependable, worry-free charts for companies to use on their web sites.
Companies may choose the data that is used in their specific version of
MetaStock Java and MetaStock Image. This flexibility is important when
a company has an established relationship with a data provider-or when
the company is a data provider itself. As long as their data is
delivered in the format explained in the web integrator's kit,
MetaStock can handle it. MetaStock Java and MetaStock Image also allow
companies to: -
Use open, high, low, close, volume, price, or timestamp price data
-
Chart price data on any market-stocks, commodities, options, mutual funds, indices, and more
- Work with more than one feed or source
Customizability With
MetaStock's new online charting choices, each company can choose what
features to offer, creating the best value for its customers. Here's a
sampling of a few popular features a company can include in its version
of MetaStock Java or MetaStock Image: -
Compare and plot up to five securities/instruments on a chart at once with a color-coded legend.
-
Display daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and intraday intervals.
-
Change between Bar, Bar w/Open, Candlesticks, and Line Charts.
-
Show volume bars and window at the bottom of chart.
-
Control the size (height and width) of the chart.
-
Make practically any visual change desired-colors, fonts, whatever is
needed to make MetaStock Java or MetaStock Image fit any site.
-
Let users choose from as many as 21 technical indicators and studies for analyzing their charts.
- To
easily specify the language used in all aspects of MetaStock's display,
a language file has been externalized. Many other enhancements have
also been added to allow for easy localization.
