Does anyone know the maximum volume (number of digits) MS 10 will support? I'm up to 9 digits, would like to go to 10 to match current DJI volume levels (OK, they've gone over 10B, but if I could approach 10B I'd be happier). When I try a manual x10 on the volume, I get an Invalid Adjustment (It will not be performed) message.

Hi mdimen,

Welcome to the Forum.

MetaStock uses "single digit precision" so it loses accuracy above 7 or 8 significant digits (the jury is debating the exact level!). Although MS is capable of charting much larger values, the scale will only show a "few" significant digits and an exponent multiplier.

Some argue, the larger the number the less significant the smaller components, so often data providers round volume (for example) by dividing the real value by, say, 1,000 i.e. a volume of 1,000,000 is displayed with a value of 1,000.

From memory, MS creates an overflow error at 2^128 (or approx 3.4028E38 according to my calculator)

Hope this helps.
