Hello
I am being told by ShareScope that I can export their data as PRN files and read these into MetaStock (I use MetaStock version 8.01).
Is this true?
I have pasted the sample PRN file below. I am confused because I thought MetaStock files are BINARY format and the SahreScope PRN file is ASCII (see snippet below).
Thanks!

This is half-right (maybe more than half, but certainly not entirely 100% correct!) The PRN output is (traditionally) a printer text file, but at least this PRN format is the correct format to be imported into MS by using the DownLoader to do the file conversion. Select the source file filetype as ASCII and the destination filetype as MetaStock. Downloader Help File wrote: In order for an ASCII source file to convert properly, the file must be arranged correctly. This section explains the proper alignment. The data in the ASCII file should be arranged as shown below. <ticker>, <per>, <date>, <time>, <open>, <high>, <low>, <close>, <vol>, <o/i> An ASCII source file can also contain a <name> field. This is helpful if your destination file is in the MetaStock format and you want the name of MetaStock file to be different than the ticker symbol . If you choose to include a <name> field in your ASCII file, you must define a header line, otherwise the conversion will fail. The following header line is an example. <ticker>, <name>, <per>, <date>, <close>, <vol>
Hope this helps. wabbit [:D]
