Dear friends,

I am new to Metastock and investing and would like to know more about the use of the Enhanced system tester. I have no problem in testing per se, but difficulty in understanding the results based on the

1. Points only test

2.Initial Equity: Default Size, Transaction Cost, % of available quantity

To me any test on the Point only test gives higher points, some times in the order of 1000s. But whenever i choose the Initial equity test based on the 3 options and its variations, always get max profit of less than $3.08.

I studied the manuals, help, watched the video on testing, but still couldnt grasp the meaning of them.

Whats the difference between points only test and the initial equity. Why the descrepancy is so big between them? Which test should i use to get a realistic expectation ?

Any explanation would be highly appreciated.

thanks

kesk

per the HELP button ...

Points Only Test ... Check this box if you are trading futures or commodities and want to track the number of points gained or lost instead of the currency values.

Initial Equity ... This is the starting balance of the account. Note that this option is unavailable when Points Only Test is selected.
