Hi all,

I use Metstock EOD and download futures contract data from Reuters using the downloader

I've have been having a really hard time getting data to download for some futures contracts. Long story short, I can't download some contracts until the day after markets close. This means I ether input the data myself. Or wait until the following morning to capture the data.

Well recently, it has been taking longer than 24 hours to get data. Needless to say, I'm now in the market for a new data vendor but unfortunatly haven' t been able to find anyone else with reasonably dependable data. I'm getting pretty tired of paying Reuters money every month and doing their work for them.

The issue I mention above is a known problem with Reuters data right now. below is the excuse they gave me. The translation is, "We're not doing anything about it. Just do it yourself, Thanks for the monthly payment"

Does anyone have any suggestions for other data vendors that supply quality EOD data and end of day?

Thank you for your message. Unfortunately we do have some issues
collecting our snapshot price for ICE Futures. This unfortunately will
not be resolved for approximately 2-3 months, as we migrate over to new
servers/server architecture. Because we miss this snapshot price, it
falls on our backup data collection (which typically does not occur
until 1 AM to 2 AM Eastern) to get this data. It would appear that on
Friday/Saturday this backup server we collect from did not have the
price data.

I understand your concern and wish I could provide you with a more
immediate solution. Once we have our new servers and server tools in
place, we should have no problem collecting the ICE Futures in a timely
manner.
