Change a chart's template and keep line studies

Hi
Is there anyway of changing a chart's template without losing all of my studies (i.e. trend lines, notes, etc)?
I am using MetaStock 8.1 and everytime I apply a new template to an existing chart, all of my studies are lost because MetaStock effectively applies the template to a new chart as opposed to applying it to the existing chart.
