I have been using Metastock since about its version 7 but sometimes I still have somethings confused .
I would like to ask help here . I have an indicator , lets call it A .
I plotted a tema line on this indicator A . Then I want to smooth it further , so I plotled another 40days simple moving average on it . I want to see the situation then the indicator A about certain extent over the simple moving average of the tema so I use envelop .
Unfortunately everytime I drag the envelop to the simple moving average , the resulting graph looks weird . It seems dont like the envelop line is not the real envelop of the simple moving average . When I drag the envelop over the tema line , it seems right . An envelop was saw and embrace the simple moving average line .
Can somebody familar with the envelop function tell me why ??

I believe the envelop uses either C,H,L so placing it over any other indicator won't give
you the envelop of that indicator. You will have to write a new indicator that does that.
It might be that the periods are out of sync. Try plotting all 3 with the same period and
price field and see if the graph still looks weird.
