Thanks: 2 times
Was thanked: 3 time(s) in 3 post(s)

I am an old Meta owner (at present version 8 eod), but I still do not know how to retrieve a security deleted unawarily from the the "Opend dialog"

And I am also very anxious any time I am in the "Open" dialog. The "X" "Delete" button is soo close to the "Up one level" button... But what happens when (the question is about when, not if) the "Delete" button is pressed when no security is highlighted. Does the whole set of file erase ? Forever ?

Thanks,

Justin

If no securities are highlighted then hitting the Delete button will not do anything. The default setting is to confirm deletion of these items so even if you did accidentally press this button while a security was highlighted, it should ask you to confirm (unless you checked the "Don't Show Me This Again" checkbox).

This confirmation option is controlled through the Windows Registry under the path:

HKey_Current_User\Software\Equis\MetaStock\Application\ConfirmShellItemDeletions

A value of 0 means it will not confirm the delete, a value of 1 will ask you to confirm the deletion. Be aware that incorrectly modifying the Registry can cause programs (including Windows) to not operate properly.
