Good evening. I am a long time MS user and am contemplating an upgrade from V9 Pro for eSignal to V10 Pro for eSignal. I have a handful of questions that I'm wondering if any Equis technical experts or qualified users might have comment about. I currently run a multi-display setup with an AMD Athlon. I'm not sure the specific configuration is important to my questions. Performance isn't what I'd like it to be but I attribute most of those concerns (rightly or wrongly) to the fact that MS's software architecture is relatively antiquated and not terribly scalable.
I am wondering if anyone has upgrade to V10 Pro using intensive Formula Language and add ons using Metastock Developer's Kit.
1) Is Vista stable? Is MS Pro stable under Vista? is eSignal Stable? 2) Are there any issues at all in moving formula over? ie, Is importing formula into MS V10 Clean? In installing MS plug-ins created using the Developer's Kit that runs fine in XP and MS V9 Pro? 3) Is your experience that bottlenecks are memory or CPU related? And, how much memory do you recommend in Vista with intensive multi-display usage? Ratios of needed memory versus XP? 4) Has anyone actually asked Equis or does anyone at Equis have any quantifiable feedback on how much the latest graphics adapters impact overall performance, if at all? 4) Is MS Pro performance better or worse than XP? 5) Since MS is not able to run across multiple cores, does it actually run slower on a multi-core system...unless one ensures each core is actually faster than the single core system I am upgrading from?
I would appreciate feedback to limited to those who actually have experience or in depth knowledge of these issues as opposed to anecdotal comments............
Thanks in advance. Cheers!

hey tl.... i have no ties to equis..... some of your concerns are beyond my scope.....
my current systems are dell dual cores, both amd and intel, vista os..... meta v10, vista versions, have worked better than the comparable meta versions did on xp..... of course the machines are better..... i have esignal pro and qc pro versions....
1) vista is stable.... ms pro is stable on vista..... esignal is stable..... qc is stable.....
2)only issue noted on moving between versions was the splash screen from the russian dudes ksr dll.... i removed the dll.....
3)no bottlenecks observed with vista.... memory is cheap, go with 4 gigs.....multi-display/ make sure your video card is vista compatable.....
4)beyond my scope ....
4)assuming were speaking of preformance between vista and xp..... my experience has been meta v10's vista preformance is better than with xp..... keep in mind, my vista machines are better than my xp machines are..... so that would have a large impact.....
5) side by side comparisons seem to point meta v10 run on vista is somewhat faster than compareable meta v10 run on xp......
summing it up, there has not been 1 single observed issue or regret in moving to vista....... and upgrading from v9 to v10 was better still.......h

Hi
Just a note, I recently overheated my intel celeron 1,8ghz with a 2gb memory HP laptop running multiple displays with multiple systems on multiple stocks. (up to 40 different).
I opted to go stronger, cause I had to, and went to 2x xeon quad cpu with 4gb memory, and now a previuos system test of 1 1/2 hours takes me 15min. What a pleasure. I have heard allot of negatives about vista so I stuck to XP pro with office pro. According to the equis helpdesk the system can multy task and I found this to be true with the 8 core cpu's I am running.
