Friends,
I have MS Pro 10 and for some reason I am unabe to do system testing on Intraday data.
When ever I run a test, it runs on EOD data. How do I make Tester to take Intra day data?
Pl advice.
Thanks.

So...friends,
Can I assume that MS 10 pro does'nt support system testing on Intraday data?
Any advice would be very valuable.
Thanks.

When you are performing a New Simulation and choose to Add Securities, the periodicity button is located in the lower left corner. Click the Periodicity button and scroll up to see the various intraday options.

hey sam..... sorry, overlooked your post here..... how's your intraday testing gong.....
testing on intraday data can be a real time burnin chore.... and if your testing on many securities at a time using internet speeds less than dsl , it close to impossible..... somewhere i've written up how to's to make intraday testing practical if not down right enjoyable.....
will scratch around and see if i can find it......h

Hi Hayseed,
Thanks for your response. I am testing just few stocks and hence it is relatively fast.
I need to know more on how use the tester properly and the book is not eloborate and the help function (in MS 10 pro) says "either the help file is missing or the help file could not be found (15,142403)". Amen [:)]
Where can I find more info on tester and how to use it, especially on intra day testing?
Thanks.

hey sam.... the actual method of testing intraday is same as testing eod..... except for the difficulty in obtaining intraday data files to run the test on..... in a very real sense , metastock only sees a price bar with open, high, low, close , volume , and oi ..... a hour bar is the same as a daily bar to it.... so there are no other real differences that come to mind.....
when you initialy open the system tester the help icon in the upper right corner will return the error ...... one would think that shortcut was intended to be of global scope but for some reason it's not..... perhaps a program oversight.....
if you open anything in the system tester there will be other help tabs..... all those work and send you to the same help file......
after a few years using the meta's system tester now, i've come to the conclusion roy, mstt here on the forum, probably has the best grasp of it and how to maximise it.....h
