Is there a way to change the default template without having to resave each chart in my database(s)? I had the Elder Daily template set as my default template. I have a list fo 2400 TSX and 2400 TSX-V stocks.

I changed my default template to popular.mwt but any stock in my two database files still open with the Elder template. I have found the only way to change this is to manually apply the new default template and save the chart. This would take a long time for 4800 charts.

Do I have to delete all my chart information and re-download it? Surely there must be an easier way.

Thanks

Rob,

There is an easier way to replace the Smart Charts holding your old default template. You can remove the Smart Charts for all the stocks you have already opened using your old default template. The removal of the Smart Charts would remove any notes you may have placed on your charts.

To remove your smart charts, Make sure you have all charts closed in MetaStock. Then do a Windows Search for all Files & Folders and look for the name contains MSSmart.

This will locate all of the folders that contain your Smart Charts. Deleting these folders will remove all smart charts you had using your old default template, and when you open the charts, they will come up with your new default template.
