Hi all - new to MS and the forum, plus I can't find the manuals at the moment due to renovating the house.
Does MS have a function where I can run over the entire XAO to identify a first cut of potential buys and sells? I was trying to use the Explorer last night, but could not get the result I was after.

hey d..... actually that is the function of the explorer.... most of the included systems have a companion exploration..... just run the appropriate exploration making sure your loaded records is sufficient..... too few records can be the reason for explorations not working as intended.....
for our personal created explorations we need to code our buy and sell rules and place a column or perhaps 2 columns.... but 1 should work well...
you mentioned 'first cut', the remaining columns can contain more restricted rules or perhaps confirming conditions ..... that way the returned results can be in a 'first cut', 'second cut' , 'third ' and so on..... the extra columns in v10's explorer boosts efficiency in that very manner.....h

I thought that would be the case - I've found my metastock manual and discovered I will need to set up my own trading system.
Essentially I will establish my set indicators based on various parameters which I would normally trade by, then establish these in the Explorer. I take on board your first cut second cut and so on comments as this is exactly what should occur.
the problem I have is that I wanted to use all stocks in set folders from my download function - but then realised I will include all the derivatives which i don't want. So some time will be required to set up the ASX200, small caps and so on....but that is the fun of TA and finally automating my system on MS.
