(C*V)/(Ref(Mov(V,25,S),-1))

I guess this has been done before, trying to come up with a volume-weighted formula. New peak supposed to confirm continuation of a trend, downturn early warning loss of momentum.

so far have only tried it out on a couple of charts, don't know if it works.

besides, like most volume averages, it does not discriminate between up-volume & down-volume.
