I have split my target stocks into more than 4 different folders - about 10 folders actually, each containing about 10-25 charts so that I can quickly scan through a particlar set of stock markets or set of currencies or commodities, etc.

I am using EOD 9.1

If I click on File - the last 4 charts that I loaded are listed - this limits be to only 4 folders' worth of charts before I have to use File, Open, change folder and load another chart from the new folder - I find this slow

By comparison, Microsoft Word can list up to 9 documents

Does a later version of MetaStock allow more than 4 files to be listed?

If not, does anyone have a suggestion for how to achieve what I want - looking at more tha 4 sets of charts quickly?

Thank you in advance

hey nigel .... later versions still have the 4 limit.... you might add that to the metastock wish list thread....

the file->open->change folder route is the path most will take...... however, if your handy with html a somewhat better method can exist.... i've posted the how to's somewhere, will locate and add here....

the gist of it is to use ms word, ms frontpage or any such program that allows you to assign a html address to text.... you would then create a table or list of your securities and assign the proper mws file to each.... then clicking the text will load the proper chart in meta irreguardless of folder boundries.....

you can add your created page to the custom tool bar.... couple clicks maximum for any chart any folder.... your created page will use data and chart instructions from your main folders....h

Thank you for your reply - it has inspired me to solve my issue :-)

I would not (and obviously had not) thought of it, until I read your reply

I have added a link in the Custom Tool Bar to the first chart in each folder for each folder
