hello. i'd like to know, since i use only trading systems in my trading plan, if in version ms 10.0 the system tester does work properly or not. i know that for previous version of ms results (8.0) in system testing were totally wrong. the tests does not respect in any way signals made by sistems.
thank's

Hi Ferdav

The Enhanced System Tester in MS 8.0 was defective. Many bugs were fixed for MS 8.01, a free upgrade. If you have a registered version of MetaStock this might be still available.

While many users still have problems getting accurate and credible results from the EST, there is much you can do to avoid such problems. There's a document by Tom Sprunger that is informative and very helpful, possibly already in the files section here. I have covered a number of potential traps in the MetaStock Tips & Tools subscription newsletter and given pointers on how to make the EST do what you actually want it to do. I'm not able to share these articles and deal with specific problems in an open forum but I always do my best to answer questions emailed to me at rlarsen@man.quik.co.nz. The EST still has limitations that are unlikely to be addressed, but it is a useful tool when used appropriately.

Roy and Ferdav,

For the Sprunger guide see the files section : http://forum.equis.com/files/3015/metastock_files/entry19676.aspx
