Hi is this somehow possible with system tester / Explorer?

Out of my universe of stocks, I would like to do a monthly re-allocation:

I want to filter out those 10, each month, that have the highest relative strenght and those with the lowest relative strength, and then, each month reset the portfolio and buy only the 10 best ones and kick the old ones out.

Ranking after monthly relative strenght could be done extremely easy with the explorer, however to do a system test after your criteria i belive u will need Spyglass or Fire addon. I did not tried but with this addon i belive it is possible.

The MSTT newsletter has featured a monthly trading system that holds the top five (ROC) ranked Fidelity Select funds. Securities can be ranked by almost any method, although successful ranking is conditional upon source data meeting a certain standard.

A more recent issue demonstrated ranking of up to the top 24 securities, with 36 probably being a practical limit for this method using Mark Pyles GlovalVar DLL.

FIRE (SpyGlass ERSA) should allow you to achieve much the same result without any data restrictions. FIRE ranking is by percentage so the threshold percentage would need to be set by the number of securities under test.

Contact me privately if you need more information on the MSTT ranking process.

For true Relative Strength Comparative % rankings, take a look at the URSC toolkit. In particular, take a look at this ranking exploration - it ranks securities by any selectable timeframe. jose '-)
