Hello!
Just a quick copyright question about using MetaStock generated charts in analysis forms.
I´m about to open a financial blog which is going to feature my portfolio with every stock I own. These investments are going to have a 5 page entry report and a 2 page exit report. The reports include fundamental data and technical analysis in a form of MetaStock charts.
I´m not quite sure, but I believe a credit to Equis and MetaStock is required. Is it going to be enough for me to include under the "Important Information" section, that "All charts are from MetaStock by Equis International, Inc." I would use 3 charts in entry report and 1 chart in exit report.
By the way, not to MetaStock related but - I´m using several sources for getting the fundamental figures. I use company´s 10-Q´s, 10-K´s and similar reports, AAII´s Stock Investor Pro software program, Reuters website and such. Do I need to credit every source separately, or can I just include something like "Information has been obtained from third-party sources I consider reliable."
I hope someone can shed some light on this questions :) Thanks!

My recommendation would be to seek the advice of a lawyer cognisant with the relevant rules. I don't think the argument, "but someone on a web forum gave me this information" will stand up in court if you have in fact breached some international treaty and are being sued.
A few dollars spent now might save a whole lot a little later.
Hope this helps.

Hello Scott,
thanks for your reply. I guess I´ll emaily my question directly to Equis. Maybe they can help.
Kind regards, Henrik
