Is there a way to determine a security's symbol inside a formula?

ie: x:=if(TheSymbol(".DJI"),c,v);

hey johnathan..... not sure i follow what your after..... do you mean determine what .dji represents....

or perhaps are you refering to determining the folder path....

aaaa:=(aa*Security("C:\MetaStock Data\etf\dia",C ))-amount;

which would be C:\MetaStock Data\etf\dia in that case .... h

When dropping an Indicator on a chart or doing an Exploration, I want to change a parameter based on whether the current security is .DJI, ,.IXIC, .SPX, etc., with a default if no match.

Do NOT need to know the folder, just the symbol.
