Ok guys. I have metastock 8.1 with esignal subscription. I would like to be able to download entire data history for 5000 or so NASDAQ stocks on my hard drive. Where do I start?
I have done my research and so far all I know is I have to open a program called the downloader, which I have and update the symbol data base which I did.
Now how do I have to convert the file that I just downloaded to single file, for each stock?
I might be wrong so help me please.

hey alex.... sounds like you don't have a historical data cd.... that cd is an autorun that will install sym files in the correct folders..... not having it is no big deal.... likely if you use meta to a large extent you will create your own folders anyway.....
thoughts on it.... that might appear daunting at first but after the second time it'll be a piece of cake.....
pink and sparkly method.... a local joke on marilyn from long ago....
collection of ready made sym files....
i'll post some better examples later, and agian, it's easier than it looks......h
