Hi group,

I recently bought an Elliot Wave plug in. Initially I was excited as the system tests returned brilliant results however on closer inspection I found that it used the ZigZag() function which in MetaStock looks forward (ie giving the system test future performance of the stock). If you look up ZigZag() in the MetaStock manual it will tell you more about this.

You can usually tell a forward looking system test as the explorer and advisor recommendations change with time (on historical parts of the chart).

My question is, which of the plug ins have this deficiency. Eg, does the PowerPivot Plus system look forward? That is, do some of the system tests provide unrealistic performance?
